What Prepdraw stores
Everything Prepdraw keeps stays in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. The page is built so that it cannot make a network request, there are no accounts and no analytics, and the people who made it cannot see anything you do.
Where each thing is kept
- Local storage. Your settings, and the round in progress: the cards dealt, the topic you chose, the clocks, your outline and your scores, until you save or discard the round.
- The browser's database (IndexedDB). Your log of rounds, your topic lists and, only if you turn recording on in Settings, the audio of your speeches, each kept with its round.
- The browser's cache. A copy of Prepdraw's own pages, styles, fonts and scripts, so the practice room opens with the Wi-Fi off. Nothing of yours is in it.
The microphone is used only when you turn recording on, and only while a speech is running. Prepdraw asks for it at the moment you turn recording on, never when a page loads.
When the browser clears it on its own
Unless your browser has agreed to keep Prepdraw's data, it may clear everything above on its own, all at once, when the device runs short of space or Prepdraw has not been opened for a while. Prepdraw asks the browser to keep it when you save a round or turn recording on, never when a page loads; the browser decides, and the Log says which applies. Opening Prepdraw often, or installing it as an app, makes clearing less likely, and a downloaded copy keeps your log safe.
Taking it with you, and removing it
Download JSON or Download CSV, at the bottom of the Log, saves a copy of your log as a file in your downloads folder, and each recording has its own download. Prepdraw does not see where they go.
Delete all, also at the bottom of the Log, removes everything above at once, the offline copy included. Clearing your browser's site data for Prepdraw does the same.
