DULLES HIGH SCHOOL // CLASS OF 2029 FOUNDER, DIGITAL DESIGN CLUB OPEN-SOURCE TOOLING

Building sharp developer tools, accessible community sites, and tactile web systems.

I am Aariv Patel, a ninth-grade student at Dulles High School. I spend my evenings writing developer tools for multi-agent workflows, running a pro-bono web studio for community nonprofits, leading critiques at the Digital Design Club, and practicing classical tabla.

06+ Open-source Stardance & studio builds deployed with live demos
04 Community nonprofit websites designed, rebuilt, and maintained free of charge
16 Beats in Tintal cycle practiced daily on classical tabla alongside speech drills
0 KB External CSS or JS runtime dependencies on this drafting board

Projects & Systems

SYS-01 // ELECTRON + XTERM Developer Tools

Regatta

Multi-session terminal workspace built for supervising parallel coding agents. Pairs live PTY panes with git worktree isolation, diff inspection, and instant port previews so four concurrent agent runs never step on the same working tree.

  • Split-pane terminal multiplexer with per-branch git status badges
  • Automated worktree checkout and cleanup for parallel experiments
  • Built with Electron, TypeScript, node-pty, and xterm.js
SYS-02 // TELEMETRY AUDIT Developer Tools

wasitme

Local-first authorship and session telemetry inspector that distinguishes human editor keystrokes from scripted agent bursts. Reads local git history and heartbeat logs to verify how every commit in a repository was produced.

  • Visual timeline comparing interactive editor cadence against batch writes
  • Zero-upload local analysis in the browser with exportable audit reports
  • Built for honest attribution in hybrid human-and-agent repositories
SYS-03 // BROWSER DESKTOP Web Systems

AarivOS

A ten-app desktop operating system running inside a single browser tab. Features a draggable window manager, persistent localStorage virtual filesystem, playable Web Audio synthesizer, paint canvas, and unix-style shell.

  • Shared virtual filesystem across Files, Notes, Text Editor, and Terminal
  • Keyboard-playable polyphonic synth (C4 to C5) with loop recorder
  • Reactive System Monitor tracking live DOM window counts and uptime
SYS-04 // NEW-TAB DASHBOARD Web Systems

Pulse

Keyboard-driven browser new-tab replacement with a live NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day integration, offline localStorage caching, customizable quick-link launchers, and a low-overhead HTML5 canvas starfield.

  • Resilient NASA APOD client with date time-travel and rate-limit fallback
  • Single-key shortcuts: / to search, n to add link, t for 12/24h clock
  • Full JSON import/export for portable bookmark configurations
SYS-05 // CADENCE WATCHMAN Developer Tools

Devlog Timer

Installable PWA session watchman built after losing hours to a 10-hour devlog cap. Visualizes the 8-hour warning threshold, tracks booth rating debt, preserves midnight rollover overflow, and guards against stray tab closures.

  • Live cap progress bar with 2-hour cadence nudges and 8-hour redline
  • beforeunload protection when an active session crosses threshold
  • One-click markdown template generator and 5-entry timestamped log
SYS-06 // GODOT 4 + WEB MICROGAMES Games

Garlic Panic

Fast-paced WarioWare-style kitchen microgame arcade built in Godot 4 with a companion web edition. Chains five-second reflex challenges (clove smashing, pan tossing, flame dodging) at escalating BPM tempos.

  • Procedural vector sprites and synthesized Web Audio sound effects
  • Escalating speed tiers with instant keyboard and pointer controls
  • Dual build: native Godot 4 GDScript project + instant browser canvas version

BEYOND THE TERMINAL

Design, Speaking & Tabla

Software architecture gets sharper when paired with typographic critique, structured argumentation, and rhythmic discipline.

03.A // VISUAL SYSTEMS

Digital Design Club & Community Web Studio

At Dulles High School, I founded the Digital Design Club to give students a workshop for real interface critique, Swiss grid layout, and HTML/CSS craftsmanship rather than slide-deck theory. We dissect spacing tokens, contrast ratios, and component states line by line.

Outside school hours, I run a pro-bono web studio that designs and ships fast, accessible websites for local community nonprofits and student initiatives such as MSA. Most small organizations are stuck with slow page builders or broken mobile layouts; replacing those with semantic, zero-cost static sites gives them permanent ownership.

Focus: WCAG AA contrast, responsive grids, zero-maintenance static hosting
03.B // RHETORIC & STRUCTURE

Speech & Debate

Competing in speech and debate trained me to compress complex technical ideas into clear, defensible arguments under strict time limits. When you have four minutes to establish a framework, weigh competing impacts, and answer cross-examination, every redundant sentence costs clarity.

I bring that same structural discipline to writing documentation, designing onboarding flows, and scoping software: state the premise clearly, surface the evidence early, and never hide a weak assumption behind decorative jargon.

Focus: Extemporaneous structure, analytical flows, concise technical writing
03.C // PERCUSSION & CADENCE

Classical Tabla Practice

I study and practice North Indian classical tabla, working through traditional compositions (kaidas, relas, and tihais) across cyclic talas like Tintal (16 beats), Jhaptal (10 beats), and Rupak (7 beats). Tabla demands mathematical precision: every phrase must subdivide the beat cleanly and resolve squarely on the sam (beat one).

ARCHITECTURE, TOKENS & CONTROLS

Colophon & Setup

Hand-crafted semantic HTML5 and custom CSS properties with a lightweight progressive enhancement script.

Color Tokens (Active Palette)

Styled after an architectural drafting sheet: obsidian slate in Dark Draft mode and warm archival vellum in Daylight Paper mode.

--bg-surface Primary drafting board background
--bg-elevated Module cards and specification blocks
--accent-vermilion Drafting vermilion callouts & focus rings
--accent-blueprint Coordinate telemetry & active indicators

Keyboard Navigation

Every section and tool on this page can be operated directly from the keyboard when no input field is focused.

Typography & Build Standards

  • Display & Body Stack: System geometric neo-grotesque (Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI) for zero network font latency and crisp subpixel rendering.
  • Technical & Coordinate Stack: Tabular monospace (JetBrains Mono, SF Mono, Menlo, Consolas) with font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums.
  • Zero Dependencies: Plain index.html, styles.css, and script.js deployed via GitHub Pages at aariv.me/personal-page.
