The Digital Design Club
Started on his own in eighth grade. Now at Dulles.
Aariv started the Digital Design Club at Fort Settlement Middle School on his own, in eighth grade, and ran it from its first interest meeting in August 2025 to its final showcase in March 2026. He designed its identity, built the lessons and taught the meetings, with Canva, Photopea and Figma as the tools. Seventy-one students applied in its first year. It is the thing he is proudest of.
At that first interest meeting he pitched the club as “where art meets technology”: digital design is a core 21st-century skill, members would learn the tools professionals actually use, and everyone would leave with portfolio work of their own.
A meeting opened with a five to ten minute presentation from Aariv, then a live demo he walked through with everyone in the room.
This year he is bringing the club to Dulles High School, where it was approved in September. He wants it more hands-on and more serious, pitched at a high school level, with more chances to learn the newest tools. Everything current lives on the club’s own site.
